Deshalb „Wohnzimmer des Prog“ / “Livingroom of Prog“.

The Bergkeller in Reichenbach ... what is that?

What is there to write about us? This pub was founded - because it is not more - in 1869. This should make it the oldest, continuously open locality of the town Reichenbach in the beautiful Vogtland.

And what about music?

More than a quarter of a century ago, people came up with the idea of "live music", almost like in an Irish pub, but mostly with "full chapel". It went a bit: well, sometimes bad.

Until one day, by accident and maybe a misunderstanding, the first "real" band arrived here. And as on the first day, there is no stage today in the room, which is less than 100 square meters, but the musicians play on a carpet, right in front of the audience.

They still have to share the space in the Bergkeller with a small bar ... it's not more direct for a fan ... that's why "Prog's Living Room" / "Livingroom of Prog".

Über uns

Not just progressive rock

The tables are on the street and grilling is in front of the house. Everything is a little different, it has to be easy! But it's not just progressive rock that is celebrated here. From scene greats like "IQ", "Pallas", "Arena", "Pendragon", the metal group of this music like "Fates Warning" or "Threshold". World-class tribute bands like "The Watch" or "Mr.Punch", but music of many directions ... as long as it's "sophisticated" ...

Over the years, so many of the best musicians in the world have been playing in the "living room": Grammy winners, members of the "R & R Hall of Fame" and true legends are giving and making a "rendezvous".

Legends such as Don Airey of Deep Purple, Albert Lee, Genesis and Phil Collins live drummer Chester Thompson, Uli Jon Roth, Carl Palmer, Spencer Davis, Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Dennis Chambers (Santana), Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep). Or "Mr. Stickman" Tony Levin and many more here alongside the younger heroes like Terry Bozzio, whose drums barely fit in the pub. Guthrie Govern with the "Aristocrats", Jennifer Batten from Michael Jackson, Simon Phillips from Toto, Fish, Arjen Lucassen with "Stream of Passion" and so many more.

Terry Bozzio and Carl Palmer will soon be back in Reichenbach!

Drummer legend Terry Bozzio, known for his collaboration with Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, UK and his acclaimed solo performances, arrives at the Neuberinhaus on May 23, 2018.

Carl Palmer, u.a. the drummer of the world-famous progressive rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer, will play on August 30, 2018 here in the Bergkeller Reichenbach, in the living room of the Prog Rock.

All come to the "living room of the prog"

Exception musicians otherwise their "buns" with musicians such as Elton John, Michael Jackson, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Santana, Weather Report, Supertramp, Mick Jagger, John Mayall, The Who, Scorpions , Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Mike Oldfield, Roger Waters or anywhere else where you earn or deserve. Guitar gods, drummer legends, keyboard wizzards, bass monsters or rock tunes ... they all come into the living room.

Marco Minnemann put it this way: "The Bergkeller is the coolest bar in the world, this impudence that you have to play on a carpet, there are only once on this planet, and everyone comes! ... Great!"

Jennifer Batten on the question at her first gig here, whether she heard something from the Bergkeller opposite the press: "I think, I'm the only one who has not played here yet, almost everybody knows the Bergkeller!"
